โองการ

Borrowed from Sanskrit ओङ्कार (oṅkāra, “act of pronouncing oṃ; act of exclaiming oṃ”, literally “act of oṃ”), possibly via Old Khmer oṅkāra, oṅgakāra, ūṅkāra (“pronouncement; used as a royal title; used as an ornament to the name of a phallus”).

Cognate with Modern Khmer ឱង្ការ (ʼaôngkar), Lao ໂອງການ (ʼōng kān).

     ครั้นเพลาสามโมงเช้า พระโองการเสด็จข้ามไปวัดแจ้ง เจ้านายแลขุนนางผู้ใหญ่ผู้น้อย...มารับเสด็จพระโองการที่พลับพลา

     krán pee-laa sǎam moong cháao · prá oong-gaan sà-dèt kâam bpai wát jɛ̂ɛng · jâo-naai lɛɛ kǔn-naang pûu-yài pûu-nɔ́ɔi ... maa ráp-sà-dèt prá oong-gaan tîi pláp-plaa
