Cognate with Isan แพ้ (phɛɛ⁵), Lao ແພ້ (phǣ), Northern Thai ᨻᩯ᩶ (pɛɛ⁶), Khün ᨻᩯ᩶ (pɛɛ⁵), Lü ᦶᦗᧉ (pae²), Tai Dam ꪵꪝ꫁ (ꞌpẹ), Shan ပႄႉ (pâ̰ae), Tai Nüa ᥙᥥᥳ (pė).
