Cognate with Northern Thai ᨲᩯ᩠ᨦ, Lao ແຕງ (tǣng), Lü ᦶᦎᧂ (ṫaeng), Khün ᨲᩯ᩠ᨦ, Shan တႅင် (těng), Tai Dam ꪵꪔꪉ, Ahom 𑜄𑜢𑜂𑜫 (tiṅ), Zhuang dieng (“watermelon”) (dialectal), Zuojiang Zhuang peng.
