Inherited from Sanskrit द्विप्रहर (dviprahara). By surface analysis, બે (be, “two”) + પોર (por, “measure of time close to three hours”). Cognate with Marathi दुपार (dupār), Sindhi ٻَه پَهَرَ (ḇah pahara).
