    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀓𑀡𑁆𑀳 (kaṇha, Krishna), from Sanskrit कृ॒ष्ण (kṛṣṇá), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *kr̥šnás, from Proto-Indo-European *kr̥snós, from *kers- + *-nós. Doublet of কৃষ্ণ (krisno). Compare Hindi कान्हा (kānhā).
