Etymology
From Proto-Indo-Aryan *saptatí, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *saptatí, from Proto-Indo-European *septḿ̥dḱomt (“seven-ten”). Cognate with Ancient Greek ἑβδομήκοντα (hebdomḗkonta), Latin septuāgintā.
