Cognate with Avestan 𐬨𐬀𐬌𐬌𐬀𐬵 (maiiah, pleasure), Proto-Slavic *mìlъ (sweet), Lithuanian mielas (nice, sweet, cute), Latin mītis (mild, calm, pleasant), English mitigate.[1]
