मनति

Etymology

By surface analysis, the term is derived from the root म्ना (mnā). According to the LIV, the verb may actually reflect Proto-Indo-European *mnéh₂-ti, an athematic root present to *mneh₂-. It is possible that this same athematic present is the source of Luwian [script needed] (manāti) and Ancient Greek μνάομαι (mnáomai), though the Greek term has alternative explanations.[1][2]
