  1. sense of proportion; proper balance or perspective.
    तारतम्य न ठेवता केलेला निर्णय सामान्यतः चुकीचा ठरतो.
    tārtamya na ṭhevtā kelelā nirṇay sāmānyataḥ cukīcā ṭharto.
    A decision made without a sense of proportion turns out to be wrong.
  2. (formal, analytical) gradation; relative difference; comparison according to degree or importance.
