Borrowed from Punjabi ਠੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ (ṭhullhā) / ٹھُلّھا (ṭhullhā, “obese”) (compare modern Saraiki ठुल्ला (ṭhullā)); ultimately from Sanskrit स्थूल (sthūla). Doublet of स्थूल (sthūl).
