a prayer ritual involving the waving of a single or a tray of diyas before the idol of a deity in a clockwise circular motion; also performed for a person when being honored or on special occasions (such as birthdays).
(by extension) the diya — more specifically, the flame — that is waved.
(by extension) the devotional song or prayer sung when the aforementioned ritual is being performed.
