لاهوری

Borrowed from Arabic لَاهُورِيّ (lāhūriyy), from لَاهُور (lāhūr, “Lahore”), the fabric's place of origin. By surface analysis, لاهور (lâhor, “Lahore”) +‎ ـی (-î, nisba suffix). Compare also یمنی (yemeni) and *شامی (şami), other kinds of headscarves, etymologically from toponyms.
