Uncertain, there is however Arabic آتَى (ʔātā, to agree), form III of أَتَى (ʔatā, to come), which is cognate with אָתָה (atá, to come). This relationship might be explained by assuming an unattested אוֹתָה*, which is the po'el (= form III in Arabic) of אָתָה (atá, to come) and therefore cognate to the mentioned Arabic verb, to have been reinterpreted as belonging to a different pattern and root and in this way having resulted in the present form.
