From Akkadian 𒊕𒍑 (SAG.UŠ /⁠kayamānum⁠/, literally the constant) with the niqqud of שִׁיקּוּץ (šīqqū́ṣ, abomination) superimposed. Compare סִכּוּת (sīkkū́ṯ, Sikkuth/Sakkut). Cognate with Assyrian Neo-Aramaic ܟܹܐܘܵܢ (kēˀwān, Saturn), Middle Persian kywʾn' (kēwān, Saturn), and Persian کیوان (keyvân, Saturn, Keyvan (given name)).
