ג׳ירפה
Hebrew
Etymology
Ultimately from Arabic زَرَافَة (zarāfa), further etymology is disputed. Perhaps from Classical Persian زرناپا (zornâpâ, “giraffe”), a compound of زرنا (zornâ, “flute, zurna”) and پا (pâ, “leg”), or from Classical Syriac ܙܵܪܝܼܦܵܐ (zarāfa).
