спаднуц

Pannonian Rusyn

Etymology

Inherited from Old Slovak spadnúť. By surface analysis, с- (s-) +‎ паднуц (padnuc). Displaced паднуц (padnuc). Most likely, sense 6 and sense 8 are semantic loans from Serbo-Croatian пасти / pasti. Compare Czech spadnout. Semantically unrelated to спадац (spadac).

Pronunciation

  • IPA(key): [ˈspadnut͡s]
