Ket

Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Yeniseian *kʰus (“horse”).[1] The sense 'cow' seen in Ket is secondary, in light of the data from other Yeniseian languages.

Also compared to Xiongnu 駃騠 (*kʷeːd.deː /⁠*kuti⁠/, “horse”) by Alexander Vovin.[2]
