Ket

Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Yeniseian *kʰu (“coal”).[1]

Other Yeniseian languages are attested using a compound term, reflecting Proto-Yeniseian *kʰupʰʌλ (“coal”), of which Ket also inherited from as Ket куульт (kúùlʲt, “glowing embers, fire-brand”).[2]
