Etymology

From βοῦς (boûs, ox) +‎ στροφή (strophḗ, turning) +‎ -ηδόν (-ēdón, adverbial suffix), in reference to the back-and-forth course traced by boustrophedon text resembling the path taken by an ox ploughing a field.
