Atkin made her professional debut at the age of just 14, before winning World Cup halfpipe gold at Copper Mountain in 2019 at 16.[3] She followed that with a bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships in Aspen FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2021.[4][5] Atkin made her Olympic debut at the 2022 Beijing Olympics in the halfpipe event, where she qualified to the final in fourth and placed ninth overall in the final.[6][7]

During the 2022-2023 competition season, Atkin won silver in the halfpipe event at the 2023 World Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia[8] and gold in the superpipe at the 2023 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.[9][10] In the opening event of the 2023–24 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup at Copper Mountain, Atkin secured a bronze medal.[11] In February 2024, Atkin finished in third position at Mammoth Mountain after a snowstorm prevented the final round from being staged.[12] Later that month, Atkin won halfpipe bronze at the World Cup meeting in Calgary.[13] Two days later, she won a silver medal in the same event at a second World Cup meeting in Calgary. She finished the World Cup series in overall third position.[14] In December 2024, she won a silver medal in the World Cup event in Aspen, Colorado, her first top-3 finish of the season.[15] Atkin jointly won the crystal globe for the 2024-2025 season along with Li Fanghui.[16]

In March 2025, Atkin won the halfpipe gold medal at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships.[17][18]

In December 2025, Atkin finished second in the halfpipe at the World Cup event in China which was won by Eileen Gu.[19]

Personal life

Atkin is the younger sister of fellow skier Izzy Atkin; both were born in the United States to an English father and Chinese-Malaysian mother, and have competed for Great Britain from a young age.[20][21] Atkin was born in Newton, Massachusetts and grew up in the east coast before moving to Park City, Utah to pursue skiing with her sister. Atkin enrolled at Stanford University in 2022 and is a full-time student while competing internationally.[22]
