Young Poland (Polish: Młoda Polska) was a revolutionary organization of Polish émigrés that existed from 1834 to 1838.
Founded on May 12 1834 in Bern with the goal of restoring Poland as an independent democratic republic. It was part of "Young Europe" led by Giuseppe Mazzini—a secret international association of revolutionary democratic organizations whose goal was to establish republicanism in Europe. The leadership was exercised by a Committee, which included Joachim Lelewel, Valentin Zverkovsky and others. After the expulsion of members of the organization from Switzerland in 1838, the organization effectively ceased to exist; an attempt to revive it in London was unsuccessful.[1]
