Yiğithan Kılıç is a Turkish taekwondo athlete who competes internationally in the men's welterweight and middleweight divisions.[1]

Career

Kılıç began his international taekwondo career in cadet divisions, winning gold medals at the 2016 Turkish Open and the 2016 European Clubs Championships in the −33 kg category. In 2017, he earned two silver medals at the Turkish Open and European Clubs Championships (−41 kg), as well as a bronze medal at the WT Presidents Cup in Athens. He later placed third at both the 2017 World Cadet Championships in Sharm el Sheikh and the 2017 European Cadet Championships in Budapest.[2]

Kılıç won gold at the 2023 European U21 Taekwondo Championships in Bucharest (−74 kg) and added two senior-level bronze medals at the Turkish Open and the Bosnia Herzegovina Open. Later in 2023, he achieved one of his strongest results by taking the bronze medal at the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships in Baku in the men's welterweight division (−74 kg).[3][4][5]

In November 2024, he became European U21 champion for the second consecutive year by winning the −80 kg category in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He later secured another senior-level medal at the 2025 Serbia Open in Belgrade (−80 kg).[6]

In 2025, Kılıç won the bronze medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, competing in the men's 82 kg category.[7]
