Yasser Talaat Shaban

Yasser Talat Shaban is an Egyptian academic researcher and consultant working in the areas of mechanical and industrial engineering. His professional activities concentrate on maintenance engineering, reliability studies, and physical asset management.[1] He holds the position of associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University, in Cairo, Egypt.[2]

Early life and education

Shaban earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Power Engineering from Helwan University in 2001. He subsequently obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Design Engineering from the same university in 2008.[3] In 2014, he completed his Ph.D. in Maintenance and Reliability Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal in Canada.[4]

He started his academic career at Helwan University, serving as a teaching assistant and later as an assistant lecturer from 2002 to 2012. During his doctoral studies at Polytechnique Montréal between 2012 and 2014, he was involved in teaching and research activities at the Laboratory for Physical Asset Integrity Management (L-PAIM). In 2015, he joined the academic staff of Helwan University as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 2020.[5]

Research

Shaban's research areas include reliability engineering,[6] condition monitoring, vibration analysis, fault diagnosis, and the enhancement and optimization of maintenance strategies.[7]
