Wu Hongjiao (born 25 July 2003) is a Chinese middle-distance runner. She won the gold medal at the 2023 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships over 800 metres, and the gold medal at the 2025 Asian Championships over that distance.[1]
Career
She won the gold medal at the 2023 Asian Indoor Championships over 800 metres in Astana, Kazakhstan.[2][3] She qualified for the final and placed seventh overall in the 800 metres at the 2023 Asian Championships in Bangkok in July 2023.[4][5] She placed seventh over 800 metres at the delayed 2021 Summer World University Games in the 800 metres, held in Chengdu, China, in August 2023.[6]
She competed at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.[7] She won the 800 metres gold medal at the 2025 Asian Championships in Gumi, South Korea in May 2025, running 2:00.08 to win ahead of Rin Kubo of Japan.[8] She was also a silver medalist at the championships in the Mixed 4 x 400 metres relay.[9]
In September 2025, she competed in the women's 800 metres at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.[10]
Personal life
She is a student at Central China Normal University.[11]
