Won Myong-gyong (Korean: 원명경; born 2000) is a North Korean freestyle wrestler competing in the 50 kg division. She won the gold medal at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships.[1]

Career

Won Myong-gyong competed successfully at the age-group level, winning the Asian Cadet Championships in 2016 and later taking a bronze medal at the 2019 Asian Junior Championships.[2]

She placed third at the 2025 Asian Wrestling Championships in Amman, Jordan, in the women’s freestyle 50 kg category.[3]

At the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, Won competed in the women’s freestyle 50 kg division. She defeated Madison Parks of Canada in the quarterfinals and Remina Yoshimoto of Japan in the semifinals, before overcoming Zhang Yu of China in the final to win the gold medal.[4][5][6]
