Whitney Leavitt (née Ellis; born May 12, 1993) is an American media personality, dancer, performer and actress. She gained prominence through her appearances on the Hulu reality television series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (2024–present) and the ABC competition series Dancing with the Stars.

Early life

Whitney Ellis was born on May 12, 1993, in American Fork, Utah.[1] She was raised Mormon with four biological siblings;[1] her parents, Barry and Stephanie Ellis, additionally fostered at least a half-dozen other children.[2] Throughout grade school, she was a competitive dancer and trained at the rival studio of professional dancer Witney Carson.[3]

In 2018, Leavitt graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in fine arts with an emphasis on dance.[2] She then backpacked across Europe for two months and lived in Uganda for four months.[2]

Personal life

While serving a mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Georgia, Leavitt became close to the family of technical analyst Conner Leavitt.[2] She officially met him in 2015 when they attended a double date as wingmen for their friends, who later bailed on their plans. She revealed on Season 1 of Secret Lives of Mormon wives that he had an addiction. [4] They married on August 20, 2016, at the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple.[4] The Leavitts have three children together and reside in St. George, Utah.[2]

Career

Leavitt began her career in the public eye with her appearance on Hulu's reality TV series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, showcasing areas of her life involving a group of Utah-based influencers known as "MomTok".[5] Between seasons 1 and 2 of the show (and as mentioned during season 3), she competed on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, alongside professional dancer Mark Ballas. They were eliminated from the show during the semi-finals.[6]

Following her Dancing with the Stars elimination, Leavitt and Ballas discussed their experience on the popular podcast Call Her Daddy and performed a freestyle dance that received over 3 million views on YouTube.[7] Shortly following, it was announced that she would also be making her Broadway debut in Chicago as Roxie Hart from February 2 to March 15 2026.[8]

In December 2025, it was announced by Leavitt on her social media as well as other publications that she would be making her acting debut in a holiday movie in 2026. Her post read, "Here’s your Christmas present…but you can’t open it till next year..." alongside an on-set photo of her and her co-star Jesse Kove.[9]
