Uzak Şehir (English title: Far Away)[1] is a Turkish drama television series based on the 2017 Lebanese series Al Hayba.[2] It premiered on Kanal D on 11 November 2024. The series stars Ozan Akbaba and Sinem Ünsal.[3]
The series is filmed in the village of Narlı, which is part of the Midyat district of Mardin.[4]
Plot
The story of Uzak Şehir begins with Alya Albora, who lives in Canada, traveling to Mardin with her son Deniz to fulfill her late husband's final wish to return to the Albora family's homeland. Alya finds herself trapped under the powerful influence of the Albora family as she confronts the hardships and tragic losses of her past. As the family's mysterious secrets begin to surface, Alya and her son Deniz are forced to fight a great battle to survive and find peace.[5]

Reception
The series has been one of the most-watched productions since its first day of broadcast. Particularly with its 15th episode, it has maintained its title as the most-watched series of the day and week, including reruns.[9] With its 18th episode aired on March 17, 2025, it became the series with the highest ratings on Kanal D in the last 15 years.[10]
