Tomás Walter Rafael Kast Sommerhoff (born 29 September 1979) is a Chilean politician and civil engineer. He serves as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile, representing the 23rd District for the 2026–2030 legislative term.

Biography

Kast was born in Santiago and pursued his higher education at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where he graduated as a civil engineer. Before entering politics, he worked in the private sector and in infrastructure-related consulting.

Political career

Kast ran as a candidate for deputy in the 23th District during the 2025 parliamentary elections. His district includes the communes of Carahue, Cholchol, Cunco, Curarrehue, Freire, Gorbea, Loncoche, Nueva Imperial, Padre Las Casas, Pitrufquén, Pucón, Saavedra, Temuco, Teodoro Schmidt, Toltén and Villarrica.

He was elected for the 2026–2030 legislative period, securing a seat in the 57th legislative term.[1][2]
