Thomaz Rocha Matera (born 20 May 1989) is a Brazilian para swimmer. He represented Brazil at the 2016 Summer Paralympics.

Career

Matera represented Brazil at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. He then competed at the 2017 World Para Swimming Championships and won a gold medal in the 100 metre freestyle S12, and bronze medals in the 400 metre freestyle S13 and 100 metre backstroke S12 events.[1]

In September 2025, he competed at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships and won a silver medal in the 100 metre butterfly S11 event.[2] He also won a gold medal in the mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relay 49 pts with a world record time of 4:23.48.[3]

Personal life

Matera was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa.[4] His younger brother, Douglas, is also a Paralympic swimmer for Brazil.[5]
