The New Yorker at 100 is a 2025 American documentary film that explores the history of The New Yorker magazine, which celebrates its 100th year of publication in 2025. It was directed by Marshall Curry.[2][3] It premiered at the 52nd Telluride Film Festival in August 2025.

Reception

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 67% of 12 critics' reviews are positive.[4]

Owen Gleiberman of Variety wrote, "If you're a fan of The New Yorker and want a backstage tour of how the supremely refined sausage gets made, The New Yorker at 100 draws back the curtain in an enchanting way."[5]

Daniel Fienberg of The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the film "is a commercial for The New Yorker and it isn't masquerading as anything else. But at that point, it should at least be a commercial for the magazine that befits the voice, aesthetic and ethos of the magazine in a meaningful way. This film's approach would have been entertaining and justifiably pithy for more magazines than I can count. It just feels wrong for The New Yorker."[3]
