The Lawless and the Lotus is a 1963 travel book by Peter Pinney.[1][2]

Reception

The Sydney Morning Herald criticised its "corn, cliches."[3] The Evening Post called it "a strong book about life".[4]

The Hull Daily Mail called it "lively, often amusing and extremely entertaining."[5]

The Canberra Times called it "entertaining travel writing".[6]

The Bulletin called it "an entertaining log-book of a raw unCook-ed tour of some of the world’s sunshiney isles from the Caribbean to the Pacific, author Peter Pinney appears as an engaging, rascally hobo, a sort of combination of James Bond, Ned Kelly and a lighter-fingered member of some civic liberties group on the run."[7]
