The Drama is an upcoming American romantic comedy drama film written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli and starring Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates.
It is scheduled to be released on April 3, 2026, by A24.
Premise
Days before their wedding, a couple's relationship is shaken when one partner discovers unsettling truths about the other.

Production
The film is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli with Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen and Tyler Campellone attached as producer via Square Peg, A24 is on board to produce the film, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson have been cast in lead roles.[2] In October 2024, Mamoudou Athie and Alana Haim joined the cast.[3]
Filming
Principal photography began on October 21, 2024, in the United Kingdom.[4] Filming locations also include Boston, Massachusetts.[5][6] The production also spent $2.9 million shooting in Louisiana.[7] Filming concluded on December 12, 2024.
Release
The Drama is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 3, 2026.[8]
Marketing
On December 8, 2025, editors of The Boston Globe's Living/Arts team received a request from A24 to hold their daily TV Critic's Corner column so an advertisement could run next to the newspaper's romance advice column, Love Letters.[1] A mock engagement announcement for The Drama was published the following day, which revealed plot details and character information.[1]
