Tellebang is a rural locality in the North Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia.[3] In the 2021 census, Tellebang had a population of 60 people.[2]

History

Tellebang State School opened on 16 February 1931 and closed on 31 December 1965.[4][5] It was on a triangular site south of the intersection of the Burnett Highway and Turners Road (25°02′32″S 151°13′55″E / 25.04234°S 151.23207°E / -25.04234; 151.23207 (Tellebang State School (former))).[6][7] A sign facing the highway marks the site.[8]

Demographics

In the 2016 census, Tellebang had a population of 63 people.[9]

In the 2021 census, Tellebang had a population of 60 people.[2]

Education

There are no schools in Tellebang. The nearest government primary schools are Mulgildie State School in neighbouring Mulgildie to the north-west and Abercorn State School in Abercorn to the south-west. The nearest government secondary school is Monto State High School in Monto to the north-west.[10]
