Tazehabad Kola (Persian: تازه‌آباد کلا) is a village in Qareh Toghan Rural District, in the Central District of Neka County, Mazandaran Province, Iran.

The village is located 13 km north of the city of Neka, 30 km northeast of Sari, 8 km south of the Caspian Sea, and about 200 km northeast of Tehran, situated 10 meters below sea level in a plain area, along the road from Neka to the Caspian coast, connected to Neka and the main road network of the country. The Neka River flows from south to north about 2 km west of Tazeabad Kola. Its lands are bordered by Behshahr County in the east and north, Miandorud County in the west, the village of Dangsarak in the northwest, Baye Kola in the southwest, and Khorshid in the south.[1]

The main clans of the village are originally from Hezarjarib Kola: Sadeqi, Esfandiari, Kaftari, Esbuchin, Zargari, Kouhzad, Ghazanfari; from Zangat Olya: Dindar; from Nodeh: Nodehi; as well as other groups such as Nazari, Abesi, and Tazemansh.[2]

During the Iran–Iraq War, the fighters from this village sacrificed 14 martyrs for the homeland.[3]

Population

According to the 2016 Iranian census, the population of the village was 1,807 people in 600 households.[4] The inhabitants of Tazeabad Kola are of Tabari ethnicity.[5]

Language

The people of Tazeabad Kola speak the Tabari (Mazanderani) language, specifically the Neka dialect.[6]

Occupation

The main occupations of the villagers are agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry. The main products are rice and citrus fruits. In the past, this village was one of the main cotton cultivation areas, but today it is rarely found.[7]
