Tapasya Nayak Srivastava is an Indian television actress. She is known for appearing in the television serial Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat as Ahankara's mother Queen Nihaarika. She has worked in many other serials of Sony SAB such as Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,[1] Chidiya Ghar and Pritam Pyare Aur Woh.[2]
Early life
Tapasya Nayak Srivastava was born on February 13, 1986, in Nagaon, Assam, India.[3]
She was born to Mr.and Mrs. Nayak in a middle-class Assamese Hindu family.[4] She has clarified her legal name is Tapasya Nayak, without the surname Srivastava and she has no idea of how that name was added to her actual name.[5]
Television
Tapasya Nayak began her television career in 2013 with cameo roles in the Sony SAB series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, portraying characters Bharti and Preethi (Vicky's girlfriend).
She gained prominence with her lead role as Mary in the Sony SAB show Pritam Pyare Aur Woh (2014), opposite actors like Siddharth Sagar and Rajesh Kumar.[6] Other notable appearances include Queen Niharika (Ahankara's mother) in Colors TV's Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, Kitti in Chidiya Ghar, and Jr. Dr. Sonia in Dr. Bhanumati On Duty, all on Sony SAB.
Nayak featured in episodic roles across various channels such as Suzanne Sequierra in Adaalat on Sony TV,[7] and Uma & Kareena in Bhanwar episodes.[8] She gave a notable intense performance as Kusum in the Episode 19 of the 55th Season of Savdhaan India titled "Kusum molests Ajay" that showcased her in a dramatic plot addressing themes of molestation, harassment and familial tensions.[9]
These diverse supporting and guest spots highlight her versatility in Indian television over more than a decade.
