Suleiman Abdul Baqi

Suleiman Abdul Baqi is the leader of Ahrar Jabal al-Arab in Syria. He has served as the head of security in Suwayda city since September 2025.

Life

He was born around 1985.[1] Abdul Baqi was targeted in several assassination attempts; one took place in September 2021.[2] He and two others were also targeted near Suwayda National Hospital on 11 November 2024, which resulted in injuries to all three.[3] Several months later, in March 2025, his home in Suwayda was targeted by RPGs.[4]

He was appointed the head of the "security file" in the Suwayda city in September 2025.[1] His home was raided on 29 November by members of the Suwayda National Guard.[5]
