Sharif Uzabumwana
Sharif Uzabumwana, commonly known as Shaffy born August 17, 1999 in Kigali, Rwanda, to Nassur Karisa and Ashura Uwankwera, is a Rwandan singer,[1] songwriter and performer.
Early life and education
He grew up in a family of 6 where he happened to be the 4th.[2] He obtained in 2023 a bachelor's degree in data analytics from Tennessee State University.
Career
He started his music career in 2019.[3] He released album featured Chriss Eazy, Element Eleeh and Kivumbi.[4] Shaffy drew inspiration from several influential artists who motivated him to pursue his music career, including Asa, Oliver Mtukudzi, Chameleone, Mr. Nice, Ali Kiba, Meddy, King James, The Ben,[5] Christopher Muneza,[6] among others.[7]
Philanthropy
In his philanthropic work, he collaborated with an organization called See Forward in the African Diaspora Youth Mobilization initiative, focusing on empowering young people and strengthening their role in shaping the future of the world.[8] He also helps rising young artists by directing their music videos and guiding them in their creative journey.[9][10]
