Selce, Banská Bystrica District

Selce (Hungarian: Szelcse) is a village and municipality in Banská Bystrica District in the Banská Bystrica Region of central Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1332.

The municipality lies at an altitude of 424 metres (1,391 ft)^[3] and covers an area of 19.99 km² (7.72 sq mi) (2024).^[4]

It has a population of 2100 people (31 December 2024).^[6]

In year 2021 was 2125 people by ethnicity 2085 as Slovak, 25 as Not found out, 11 as Czech, 6 as Hungarian, 5 as Russian, 3 as Other, 2 as Ukrainian, 2 as German, 1 as Jewish, 1 as Rusyn, 1 as Polish, 1 as Moravian, 1 as Bulgarian and 1 as Albanian.
