Schöppingen (German pronunciation: [ˈʃœpɪŋən]; Low German: Schüöping) is a municipality in the district of Borken in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located approximately 10 km (6.2 mi) south-west of Steinfurt.
The Master of the Schöppingen Altarpiece derives his name from an altarpiece that hangs in the town parish church.
