Save Your Love For Me (1955 song)

"Save Your Love for Me" is a jazz ballad composed by Buddy Johnson in 1955 that was first recorded that same year by Buddy Johnson and His Orchestra with vocals by Floyd Ryland.[1]

The 1962 recording by Nancy Wilson on the album Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley [2] brought the song to wider notice, and it has become part of the jazz standards repertoire.[3]

Etta Jones, who had sung with Buddy Johnson in 1944, made the song the title track of her 1981 album Save Your Love for Me and re-recorded it for her 1998 album My Buddy: Etta Jones Sings the Songs of Buddy Johnson.[4]
