Sarah Taylor is a British politician who has served as the Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner since being elected to the position in May 2024.
Political career
In May 2023, Taylor was elected as a Breckland District councillor for the Labour Party.[2]
In the May 2024 police and crime commissioner elections, Taylor stood as the Labour candidate for Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner and was successfully elected to the role.[3] She defeated Giles Orpen-Smellie of the Conservative Party, the incumbent since 2021.[3] In November 2025, following the UK government announcing its intention to scrap police and crime commissioners, Taylor resigned from the Labour Party and sent a letter to the prime minister outlining various disagreements with the government.[1]
