Ryan Sullivan (born 1983)[1][2] is an American painter.[3]
Biography
Sullivan attended the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and graduated in 2005.[4][5] Sullivan worked as a painting assistant to Ross Bleckner and Laura Owens.[5]
His first solo exhibition was in 2015 at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami.[5] Sullivan has exhibited at various museums and galleries worldwide, including The High Line,[6] MoMA PS1;[1] Kunstmuseum Bonn;[7] Hydra Workshop, Greece, Flag Art Foundation, New York;[8] Sadie Coles HQ, London;[5][9] Maccarone, New York;[10] Rubell Family Foundation, Miami;[11] White Flag Projects, Saint Louis;[12] and Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome.[13]
In 2013, he was artist-in-residence at Chinati Foundation, Marfa, Texas[14] and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Captiva, Florida.
In 2025, he has an exhibition at Galerie Gisela Capitain in Naples.[15]
