Rolando Ramos Muñoz was a Chilean military officer, diplomat and political figure who served as a minister of state during the military regime of General Augusto Pinochet.[1]

He attained the rank of brigadier general in the Chilean Army. Over the course of the Pinochet government, he held numerous executive and strategic positions in state-owned companies and ministries.

In 1977 he became general manager of the Production Development Corporation (CORFO), after earlier serving as director of the state-owned National Telecommunications Company (Entel) in 1978 and as vice president of the National Petroleum Company (ENAP) in 1979.

On 1 August 1979 he was appointed Executive Vice President of CORFO, succeeding General Luis Danús.[2] He remained in office until 28 December 1980, when he was succeeded by Brigadier General Renato Varela Correa.[3]

The following day he was appointed Minister of Economy, Development and Reconstruction, serving from 29 December 1980 until 22 April 1982.[1]

In January 1986 he briefly served as Ambassador of Chile to Switzerland, a position he left two months later to return to Chile. On 1 May 1986 he was appointed Executive President of the state-owned copper company Codelco, remaining in office until 30 December 1988.[4]
