Rolando González Acevedo was a Chilean military officer who assumed a political role during the final months of the Unidad Popular government of President Salvador Allende.

He was among the officers who took part in the military presence in the cabinet during 1973, shortly before the coup d'état.[1]

Biography

During the deepening political and economic crisis of 1973, Allende incorporated several military figures into his cabinet in an attempt to stabilize the country. González Acevedo was one of the officers called upon to participate, holding responsibilities related to mining policy and national security oversight. His role reflected the broader process of militarization within Allende’s government in its last months.[2]

After the coup of 11 September 1973, González Acevedo’s later career and fate remain less documented, with available information limited to references about his transitional role within the cabinet.
