Reception
George Johnston in the Sydney Morning Herald said "I read this book in one gulp... there is more colour and guts and truth in one chapter... than in all the imitatives, the stereotypes, the anachronistic melodramas the kitchen sink derivatives that the channels feed to us in a year.[2]
The Age praised its "racy, vivid, sometimes earthy prose."[3]
