Reply 1988 10th Anniversary (Korean: 응답하라 1988 10주년) is an ongoing South Korean entertainment program featuring the cast members of the television series Reply 1988 (2015–2016) as they participate in a reunion trip to celebrate the series' 10th anniversary. It airs on TvN every Friday at 20:40 (KST) starting December 19, 2025 for three episodes.

The five families of Ssangmun-dong get together to remember the drama Reply 1988 from ten years ago, despite their hectic schedules. The actors show up dressed just as they were in the drama, as if they were traveling through time. They initially get together by family in Gapyeong before to the retreat and begin the opening at three distinct spots. They play entertaining games to earn money for lunch while trapped in 1988. Each family displays their incredible connection and collaboration as they go through unexpected reactions and twists. They also present their favorite drama-related objects and share heartwarming behind-the-scenes tales.

Production

In September 2025, producer-director Na Yeong-seok announced a new project reportedly related to the 10th anniversary of the TvN series Reply 1988 (2015–2016).[4][5][6] The following month, it was confirmed that 15 cast members including Lee Hye-ri, Park Bo-gum, Go Kung-pyo, and Lee Dong-hwi participated in a two days and one night retreat in Gangwon Province between October 12 and 13, 2025.[7] Ryu Jun-yeol did not attend the retreat citing prior commitments and only appeared briefly in the first episode.[8] By November 2025, teaser photos of the cast members were released.[9][10] An homage to a previous promotional poster for Reply 1988 was released in December 2025 together with teaser trailers.[11]

Release

The Reply 1988 10th Anniversary special premiered on TvN on December 19, 2025 at 20:40 (KST) and airs every Friday for three episodes.[12]

Music

Reply 1988's soundtrack was rearranged and re-interpreted by the cast members. Reply anthology series director Shin Won-ho stated: "I prepared this OST with the hope that it will be a gift to the fans who have loved the drama for the past 10 years."[13] Music producer Ma Ju-hee added: "You will be able to experience the emotions that only the actors who built the narrative together as characters in the drama can express."[14]

Part 1

Park Bo-gum, who played Taek in Reply 1988, provided the vocals and also played the piano for the remake of the song which was originally included in rock band Deulgukhwa's first full-length album in the 1980s.[15]

Based on the original by Jeon In-kwon, the cover is sung by the three neighborhood mothers under their National Singing Contest group name "Stray Dogs".[16]
