Portington is a hamlet in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 3 miles (5 km) east of Howden and lies 0.5 miles (0.8 km) east of the A614 road.

It forms part of the civil parish of Eastrington. Portington lies within the Parliamentary constituency of Goole and Pocklington.

Portington Hall is a Grade II listed building.[1]

The name Portington derives from the Old English Portingtūn, either meaning 'settlement connected to a market town', referring to Howden, or 'settlement connected to Porta'.[2]
