Polska Cerekiew ([ˈpɔlska t͡sɛˈrɛkʲɛf], additional name in German: Groß Neukirch)[1] is a village in Kędzierzyn-Koźle County, Opole Voivodeship, in southern Poland.[2] It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Polska Cerekiew.
History
During World War II, the German administration operated the E253 and E287 forced labour subcamps of the Stalag VIII-B/344 prisoner-of-war camp for Allied POWs in the village.[3] 19 Polish citizens were murdered by Nazi Germany in the village during the war.[4]
