Peter Quilliam (pharmacologist)
Juan Peter Quilliam OBE (1915 - 11 September 2003) was emeritus professor of pharmacology at the University of London.[1]
He is buried at St Andrew's church, Totteridge, London.
Early life
Juan Peter Quilliam was born in East Sheen (then Surrey, now London).[2] His father Thomas, a chemist and schoolmaster, was from Peel, Isle of Man and a descendent of John Quilliam. His mother Maude (née Pavitt) was a linguist. Quilliam attended University College School. At age 16, he earned a scholarship to University College London (UCL). He was a rower and completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Physiology.[3]
