Owen Slot
Owen Slot (born 1967) is a British author and journalist, leading sports coverage for The Times and Sunday Times since 2021.[1]
Life
Of ancient Dutch descent,[2] the elder son of Judge Peter Slot (1932–2020)[3] and Eiluned née Lewis,[4] he was educated at Bradfield College before going up to Durham University.
Slot joined The Times as a sports writer in 2002, becoming its Chief Rugby Correspondent in 2014.[5]
Three-times winner of UK Sports Reporter of the Year[6] and three-times Sports Feature Writer of the Year,[7] Slot has covered ten Olympic Games[8] and every Rugby Union World Cup finals since 1995.[9]
In addition to his other books[10] Slot was ghostwriter for Jonny, the autobiography of Jonny Wilkinson.[11]
Family
Married since 1998 to Juliet Mellstrom, they have three children and live at Barnes, London.
Juliet Slot was appointed COO of Arsenal FC in 2021.[12]
